Frequently Asked Questions
Please feel free to contact us with any questions. We’re here to help. Hopefully you’ll find some of your questions answered below.
What are the Check-In and Check-Out times for RV/Tent Camping?
The check-in time is 1pm. The check-out time is 11am. Our office is open daily between 1pm and 7pm.
I will be arriving late. How do I check in?
Our office is open between 1pm and 7pm. It's best to arrive before dark to make it easy on yourself and others. However, arriving late is also fine. If you have a reservation and arrive after the office had closed, you will find a note on the information board outside the office with your name and detailed instructions. Please let us know your estimated arrival time via the booking form if you do anticipate getting here after 7pm. We do accept walk ins and have the "Late Arrival & Self Check-In" box with instructions on how to check in and settle payment after hours.
We’d like to visit as a group: how can we arrange our stay?
Please contact us with the desired dates, your RV types & lengths and/or number of people, in case you’re hoping to stay in our rentals or tent camp, so we can confirm we’re able to accommodate your group and help you with the booking process.
When do you close for the winter?
We typically close in mid-/late October (October 26th, 2020), except for our year round Blu House rental, and will re-open on April 22nd, 2021, just in time for "Fishmas" (the Sierra fishing opener).
What is your cancellation policy?
You can view our booking requirements as well as the cancellation policy here.
Do you allow pitching tents on the RV sites?
Unfortunately, we don’t. The RV sites are gravel so they're not great for tent camping anyway. You’re welcome to book one of our tent sites here. There are closest to the lakeshore and short distance from our lower level RV sites.
Do you have showers?
Yes, we have nice showers with hot water, available exclusively to the guests staying at our tent camping sites and in the rentals, or in vans / small trailers without a bathroom. We want you to feel at home, so we pride ourselves on maintaining sparklingly clean bathrooms.
Do you have laundry? Soap powder?
Yes, we do. Our cute laundry room will make you look forward to the laundry day! We have books and magazines for you to read and an outdoor area with free WIFI to hang out while you wait for your clothes. The cost of wash is $1.50, dryer $1.
Are campfires permitted?
Yes, campfires are permitted in our communal fire rings. We hope that you will use them also to socialize and get to know other campers, perhaps creating lasting friendships. You may also bring your own elevated portable fire pit and use it at your site, as long as you’re careful that the ashes don’t discolor the site. Please be respectful of your neighbors.
Do you allow pets? Is there a charge for them?
We allow up to two dogs per reservation and don’t charge extra for them. Please let us know if you’re planning on bringing pets at the time of booking. Please use a leash when at the camp and pick up after your pets. We hope that with dog wash and off leash dog beach (that may be limited when the water level in the reservoir is high), your adventure pup will be a happy camper here!
What is the water level like?
The water level varies greatly, based on the snow pack and time of year. Typically, the lake’s edge will recede as the season progresses. So, if you are coming later in the season (late August onwards), you should expect the water level to be lower. With that said, the views and our sunsets are still breathtaking!
Do you accommodate large rigs? 50 Amp?
Yes, we can accommodate rigs up to 42 feet long. 30 Amp only. The camp was built a while back and it’s ideal for smaller RVs.
Can I come to your place and only use your showers / your dump station?
Unfortunately, we don’t offer showers / dump station use to people who don’t stay with us.
Do you have kayaks / SUP?
Our guests are welcome to use kayaks and stand up paddle boards on the reservoir. All on first come first served basis.
Do you have WiFi Internet / Cable TV / mobile coverage?
As much as we hope you choose to turn off your phone and reconnect with nature, we understand that having access to the outside world may be vital for you to be able to enjoy the time away from the office. We offer free WiFi Internet. You may not be able to stream movies, as we’re located in a remote area and the WiFi is not what you’re used to in the city, but it’s plenty for checking emails, social media or paying bills. There’s no Cable TV. We get a great Verizon signal at the camp, but AT&T won’t work here.
Rental Trailers & Blu House
What are the Check-In and Check-Out times for Rental Trailers and Blu House?
You’re welcome to check in anytime after 3pm. It’s best to arrive in a daylight, so we can welcome you and show you around the camp and your trailer or the Blu House. However, arriving late is totally fine; we’ll leave you a note on the infomation board outside the office that explains how to find your rental. Please let us know your estimated arrival time via the booking form or by email if you had booked well in advance, particularly if arriving after 7pm. Check-out time is 11am.
What are the common rental trailer amenities?
All trailers have free WiFi Internet, TV with DVD player (except Cape and Sierra Stream), fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Each trailer has heating and A/C. The kitchens are fully equipped with utensils, cookware, pots and pans, glasses, cups, plates, paper towels, dish soap and all the typical kitchenware. Beddings, towels, and hand soap are also provided. Each trailer has an outside seating area with outdoor furniture, as well as fire pit and BBQ for your personal use. We provide one-use supply of charcoal briquettes, to get you set up for your grilling and outdoor entertaining, and you can buy firewood at the office.
Can I use the communal bathrooms?
In 2020, our communal bathrooms are available to guests staying in the Sierra Stream rental and at the tent camping sites only. All our other rentals come with their own private bathrooms and toilets.
Is smoking allowed?
We try hard to make your stay pleasant and odor free. All rentals are non-smoking.
Do you allow pets? Is there a charge for them?
We can accommodate up to two four-legged campers in our Baja trailer. We don’t charge extra for them but ask that they need to stay off the furniture (beds, sofas etc.) and are not left in the rental unattended. Please pick up after your dog and use a leash when at the camp. We like being dog friendly and try to maintain being able to offer that to our guests, but won't be able to accommodate heavily shedding pets that aren't house trained. Please let us know if you’re planning on bringing pets at the time of booking. We hope that with dog wash and off leash dog beach (that may be limited when water level in the reservoir is high), your adventure pup will be a happy camper here!
Do you sell ice?
Need ice for your cocktail? No problem, just stop at our office and we will get you some. We also sell ice cream for your kids.. or the kid in you! (they're typically for sale between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends and ice is available through late September).
Can I get propane / RV supplies at your camp?
Yes, at just $3.50 a gallon, you won’t find it cheaper for miles. We also carry many RV items in our store at reasonable prices. We can order anything RV-related and have it delivered to us in 24 hrs. Just tell us what you need.
Do you sell firewood?
Yes, we do; locally grown firewood is $7 a bundle (California law forbids transportation of wood; you are permitted to only burn wood from the area you’re in).
Where can I buy bits and bobs I’ve forgotten to pack?
We have a small store on premises that carries a cute selection of t-shirts, gifts, postcards, books, hats etc. Additionally, we carry typical convenience items such as shampoos, soaps, bug sprays, sunscreens, etc. If you need it, we got it. If we don’t have it, you don’t need it.

We hope our camp will become your home while exploring the Eastern Sierra. We’d love to let you in on our insider’s knowledge of the area and share the secret spots with you. I’m a solo traveler, do you organize a campfire nights where I can hang out with other campers?
